I've been where you are. I have felt like you feel - like you're not living up to the vision of who you thought you would be at this point in your career, in your life. You're at a point where you know you want to create a deeper connection to what really matters in life, but you don't have the foggiest idea of how to do that. It's overwhelming, isn't it? It would be easier to keep doing what you've been doing all along rather than stepping into the tough work to start making a real difference. You know that working on your leadership means working on you . . . and that's intimidating. Scary. Now that I say it out loud, it sounds exhausting!

I'm not going to say it'll be easy, but I will guarantee that it'll be worth it. Learning to become intentional about the kind of leader you want to be is tough work, but it's incredibly rewarding - for you and for those you lead. And don't think for a second that it's about becoming perfect. It's entirely about being real.

I understand what it's like to work for all types of leaders - the great, the good, the bad and even the ugly. I've been a leader and I wasn't perfect. I have been at it for over 25 years, in all sorts of roles. For the past few years, I've been doing real work on myself, and working with leaders like you, teaching the skills and habits that I've found so helpful . . . life changing if I'm being honest. I've looked inside, figured out what really matters to me, and I do my best every day to act with courage and care, both for myself and those around me.
